What does a ____ say?

**Video At the Bottom**
Here is Kaitlyn, all ready for bed! Almost 16 months old! She is growing up so fast.

You know you have a big girl when she sucks her own nose.

"Let me show you how this really feels Mom! Revenge time!"
(I love her face in the picture above)
I love how much she knows. She is so cute and keeps us laughing!
Here she is showing off her knowledge of what animals she knows... She was kind of shy on camera, usually she does Puppy really well!

Dr. Suess Party

Our ward had a Dr. Suess party and we had so much fun dressing up. Alma had a Wocket in his pocket, I had a Noothgrush on my toothbrush and Kaitlyn was the Zlock behind the Clock. It was so much fun to dress up and get ready for our party. Here are a couple pictures of us being silly.
(I put a cup in my hair and made it really tall. I am not sure that Kaitlyn liked it, she wasn't very fond of me the whole evening. I guess it was a little scary for her)

We made shirts and the clock around her clock and my Noothgrush on my toothbrush. Alma made a Wocket that looked pretty cool.

You can kind of see in this picture that we put gel in Kates hair. Kind of fun!

My buddy, my buddy, Where ever I go, she goes with me!

Well, I am the kind of mom who doesn't let any toys in Kaitlyns bed. I just never thought she needed it, the crib is a place for sleeping not playing... is what I thought.

I have seen a few pictures on friends blogs or on facebook where their kid has toys in their crib and I have always wanted to do it, I was always just too afraid that she wouldnt fall asleep.

You see, if you know my daughter, she is the kind of kid who can't sleep in public, if there are people or toys around she can't fall asleep cuz she might miss something. I was always too afraid to try putting something in her crib. I thought she would just play and miss that window when she would fall asleep.
She is great about nap time. When she is tired, I can tell by her manners, (rubbing eyes) and I ask her, "Do you wanna go to Nigh' Night?" and then I would say pretty much everytime, she runs to her crib and points to it, I lay her down, cover her with a blanket and she falls asleep. I don't hear one peep from her again. It works great!

So I have wanted to add toys to her crib, to cuddle with. I actually tried putting her baby in there once and she threw a fit. I think she was jealous or something. So, I just never had the insentive to try to put anything in there with her. What we were doing, was working GREAT. I was too comfortable with the way things worked to try something else.

Then today, she was acting tired, ready for her nap, and I asked her if she wanted to go Nigh' Night? She picked up her baby and ran to her crib. So I thought, "hmmm... maybe I would give it a try." I tucked her in her blanket along with her baby next to her. Then I left.

I heard her talking and giggling, like they were having girl chat, maybe talking and laughing about "how funny mom is to actually think that they were ever going to go to sleep."

I kept thinking, "She is never going to sleep with that baby in there. She probably thinks it is a party! But I held myself back from going in and taking it away. I heard her every now and again, laughing and things, which usually doesnt happen but occasionally, and then it was quiet.

Later, when I knew she was asleep I peeked in at her and found her cuddling so softly and sweetly with her baby, who, to me looks like her twin. Both Bald with beautiful eyes. It was such a cute, yet different sight to see her sleeping.

The simple things....

It is amazing to me how the most simple things in life can make you happy. I am so grateful for my husband and my daughter. I love this little family that I have, and nothing makes my heart melt more then seeing us spend time together.
It truly is the simple things in life that make you happy...

Craft and cooking

My ward is so much fun! We do play groups and crafts, and since the weather has been nicer... just playing outside and enjoying the playground! I am really enjoying this area. I am excited to go to the next stage of life, but I am really enjoying this time here in Provo. Yesterday, a girl in our ward taught us how to make crayon holders. I had seen one once before that my sister, Kenna made, and I have been wanting to make one. Super cute and easy.My stiching didn't turn out the best, but I really liked the colors that I used!
Here it is all rolled up!
Opened up (sorry I turned it the right way but for some reason when i put it on here it posted sideways...) But each pocket is for a crayon.

All laid out flat

Kaitlyn loves my clothes. She is always playing in our closet, pulling everything out. Alma helped her put this on. She kind of looked like a little Yoda, or like she was wearing a graduation gown.

Too cute

And, I made a dinner with all the stuff in my fridge. Saucy chicken and broccoli casserole and Zest sauce Asparagus with tukey bacon wrapped water chesnuts in BBQ sauce and tomatos for my casserole. Wasn't sure if Alma wanted them in it so that is why they are on the side. Cooking is fun!

Billy Joel Rocks my socks off~

So on Saturday Night we had the oppurtunity to go and see Billy Joel and Elton John. I listened to Billy Joel a lot as a kid (because of my dad) I know almost all the words to all his songs and there is something about listening to him that takes me back. My brother put together an evening so we could all go together and watch Bro. Joel (as my Dad calls him). It was so much fun. It was Jared, his friend, Kacey, Alma and I. Lets just say Billy Joel ROCKS! even at his age now! Seriously, such a good performer! Anyhoo, I like a lot of Elton Johns songs, but I didn't feel like he really was enjoying himself as much as Billy Joel. It was so much fun! I loved our seats cuz we had a good view of Billy Joel. Here is a pic of where we sat, Billy Joel is in the bottom right closest to us, and Elton is sitting across from him on his piano. So awesome! Thanks Jared for the evening and Thanks Shannon and Owen for watching Kaitlyn! I meant soooooooo much!
(there is a video of Billy Joel singing at the bottom of this post)
So many fans!
Here is Kate after eating some yummy pudding!
In her new hat and sweater from Grandma Chamberlain. Cute in purple!

Big eyes like her Daddy!

We made these pizza rolls, made with pizza crust dough, cheese and pepperoni's and baked them in the oven! Sooooo yummy!

Kate and Alma watching Tv. I love how she just sits with him, mostly if he has food. Her shirt fits perfect for this picture.... "Daddys girl"

Picking Door Berries/Funny Daddy

Kaitlyn is always so entertaining. I love her imagination. She has just been so much fun to have around. Sometimes I wonder where she comes up with some of the things she does, but I love it and don't want her to ever stop.

Here she is "Picking Berries from the tree of Entrance" (our front door) and feeding them to Alma. Too cute.

And of course, Daddy reading Dr. Seuss is hilarious. At least Kaitlyn thinks so. Whenever he reads to her, she just cracks up the whole time. Not when I read to her though. Too funny!

My chatterbox

My little girl is one chatterbox. She just follows me around and tells me things. She is telling me stories and asking me questions... I am sure of it. It is so cute. And I love how she has so many different sounds when she talks. Anyway, This is a video of her chatting back and forth with her Dad. Isn't quite like the chatting she does with me, but it is pretty fun. Enjoy!

I know, I know, but....

I know... I know. My blog is always about my daughter Kaitlyn. Our lives just aren't changing that much... Alma is in school, and I am at home with Kate. I did get a new calling in the ward which is keeping me busy. I am in the Relief Society Presidency, 2nd counselor over Homemaking. Alma has been SO great with helping with Kaitlyn so I can attend all the meetings that I need to.
Alma just starting school last week! This is the 2nd to last semester and then we will be all done. So we are planning on finishing this Dec. 2010. A little sad, I will admit. I am really loving our life right now. It is perfect. We live in a little apartment, we get to spend a lot of time together, we are young and not too stressed out, we are enjoying our daughter and the light that she is, we dont have a ton of bills, thanks to where we live, where most all Utilities are included. We are really trying to enjoy every moment of this time we have together. We know this stage is short, and it is so much fun! So we are doing our best to make the most of each day. We couldn't be happier.
All of Almas teachers had a conference to go to this week so he has no school. So leave me some ideas of things we can do this week!(preferably in Utah Valley and doesn't cost a bundle) I would love to hear them!
So most all of my posts are about how Kaitlyn is growing and learning and the silly things she does. Probably gets old, but that is ok. It is more for my records to post all of this, I love being able to look back, so if you are still reading my blog... Thanks for still coming!!! I will try to post more things about me and Alma. Until then, here are some cute things "we" have been up to:
We gave her a good bath and then she came out with her diaper on and went right to the kitchen and got out the chocolate chips. After she figured I probably wasnt going to open it for her to eat, she brought me out the peanut butter, and me being a PB fan.... I decided to let her go at it. Yes, after a bath. It did get messy all over her, AND all over me, but it was so much fun! She is only a kid once right?!?!
Getting her hands all in it... YUM~ Brand new PB. that is the best!

Here she is just chillin' watching me make homemade bread. I love how her feet are up on the table just taking it easy while I do all the work. I felt like the little red hen, :) she got to reap the rewards from my hard work. That is ok with me though! She was a great company!

Tonight we had some friends over from our ward and had a lot of fun. They have a little girl close to Kaitlyns age and she kept hugging Kaitlyn. It was too cute to not take pictures of.

This last week, I watched my sisters boys so she could go help her husband on a house they are building... sounds cold to me to go out there in January! These boys were tons of fun! It weird being around boys since I have a girl, but they are great kids. Who love to laugh. They just keep playing off of each other. So cute!

I am loving this stage that Kaitlyn is at! It seems like she is understanding more and more with each day. Even though she can't say a ton of words, she communicates so well with me. She does well with ALWAYS letting me know what she wants. :)

Some of her words are:

Hi

Hot

No

Mama

Da (Dad)

Ow!

Fish or 'ish

Nose (which she will happily point out on anyones face)

Some things she says we can't tell if she is really meaning to say it, like:

I like it

Horsey

Baby

She knows and understands and acts upon these words:

Eat

More

Chair

Dance

Baby

Banana

Drink

Kiss

Hug

Down

Bye-bye (waves)

Night-Night (Waves)

Tickle

There are probably some other words that I can't think of, but it is good to write them all down.

Today before church, when we would do something to her baby she would copy us. So cute, here is a video of it.

And here is another video of it:

Well, that is it for now! Hope all finds you well with your family~
