Christmas

 

Our Christmas was fun. We had my oldest sister and her family come and visit and played lots. A few days before Christmas Alma got to go back home and visit all his Family for his Brothers Wedding. Unfortunately, Kaitlyn was sick only one day and it was Christmas Day. She woke up late and had a hard time opening Presents. She opened a lot of them laying down and as soon as they were opened she fell asleep on the floor. We had crazy wind and rain and Tornado Warnings for most of the morning and the power went out as well. Then we headed over to my Moms for dinner. Kaitlyn slept most the day which just broke my heart. So much excitement and then just like that Christmas is over.

 

Kaitlyn Turns 4

 

I have not been very good at blogging lately. Not too much has been happening. Same things as always, so I haven’t been taking too many pictures. Plus our camera has been acting up and the flash broke and I have not been able to get good pictures.

So Kaitlyn turned 4!! We threw a surprise party for Kaitlyn since Alma was going to be out of town on her actual Birthday. For about the last year and a half (since Alma threw me a surprise party… she has been so into jumping out at me whenever I leave the room and yelling surprise!!) Since she has been so into it for so long, I decided to invite a couple friends over and have a surprise party. She and Alma went to the store and then everyone came over and then when she walked in the door we surprised her. It was super fun! I was worried it would overwhelm her but she just jumped right in.

My Mom and Dad came over the night before her actual Birthday and spent the night and then we spent her birthday with them. It was a great weekend.

Things about our 4 year old Kaitlyn:

She loves to talk

She loved to play pretend

She is happy

She is helpful

She is smart

She is understanding and always wanting to learn

She is funny

She is full of life

She is sweet

She loves everyone

She is always trying to make sure everyone is happy

She loves her sister

I love my relationship with her and the things that she says and does. I feel so blessed to have her in my life and to have her as my first born.

 

Playing in the Car

The other day while I was vacuuming out the van… they decided to get in the back and play. It was super cute. I can’t believe how much they are growing and I keep thinking that Whitney is looking as big as Kaitlyn everyday.

Patio Sealed

Well we are about done with our Patio. We sealed it last Saturday. Put some Poly Sand in the gaps and got it wet and it hardened and is now sealed together! It will be great to clean it all up back there and get things set out on it like a picnic table and patio furniture. But that won’t be for awhile.

Halloween 2012

 

This year for Halloween we had a Cinderella and a Witch.

They did so great Trick or Treating and got lots of Candy. They went until they couldn’t go anymore.

It was so fun because we went with a big group. 5 Families or so. It was a lot of fun. Our neighborhood has so many kids and so it was fun to be walking around with lots of trick or treaters~

My girls didnt eat any candy once we got home and actually forgot about their stash for about 5 days. Until I reminded them. But I was curious how long it would be till Kate asked about it. They have barely eaten any so I guess it is going to last us awhile. Unless Alma and I get to it first.

     

Beach Fun in October

 

This last summer we went to my sisters house in Washington. While there we went to the beach and Kaitlyn kept saying, “I wish there was a beach by our house”

We told her there was but that we just had not been to it yet. So she was excited to check it out.

It was so great to be able to go in October. It was wonderful weather and the sand was so soft and the beach was clean and the water was not to cold.

I love how excited and into making a sand castle Alma was.

 

It was nice to be able to drive up on the beach and have a little covered tent for shade. We had a great time with our friends and are going to have to make this an annual thing!

Drive-in Movie in the Driveway

 

Our cul-de-sac is pretty awesome. One Friday Night we set up a screen on the garage and watched the Lorax with all the kids. It was such a blast! It really felt like the drive-in movie!

 

The girls had their Popcorn and water and beanbags!

Afternoon at the Temple

 

I really want my girls to have a strong love for the Temple.  After living in Utah where it was down the street we would walk to it all the time and walk around on the grounds. Now that we are in Texas we don't get a chance to walk or drive by it very much with the girls.

Alma had to work last Saturday so I decided to go ahead and take the girls to the Temple and take some pictures of them. These were the best pictures. We also bought all the Primary songs on CD at the Distribution Center so it was so great to listen to that music all the way home!

Our bodies

I am involved in a Joy School with Kaitlyn where 6 of us take turns teaching every week Tuesday and Thursdays. It is super fun and I got to teach last week. My topic was Healthy Bodies so I had all the kids Trace their bodies and color them. These are Whitneys and Kaitlyns before they colored them. I didn't get the after photos and they are pretty torn up now. But it was super fun to do with the kids!

Breakfast at Dennys

We went with our good friends/neighbors and had Breakfast at Denny’s a couple Saturdays ago. The kids had their own booth and then we were next to them in another booth! Super fun! We had 2 free Grand slam breakfasts so we had to use them up!
