39 Weeks

39 Weeks with Baby #3!

We are plugging along in this pregnancy. Keeping busy. I moved a week and a half after Kaitlyn to Texas from Idaho for Almas internship and then with Whitney we were in the middle of Tax Season and getting ready to close on our house. She was 3 weeks old when we moved. So I must say, Not having to move or being stressed about our life is really nice this time around. I never get to set up a room for the baby to come home to and I have loved doing that. We are so excited to meet him and I am sure whenever he decides to come will be great.

I am hoping to go into labor on my own so I have let my Dr. know that I plan to go as long as he feels I and the baby can go without any danger. He said that he would probably induce at 41 weeks which is May 13.
We are hoping he comes sometime around his due date of May 6th on his own. But I am starting to feel like there is a big chance we end up inducing again!

Here is to hoping he comes on his own!

I am so grateful for all the things that are keeping me busy. The girls, the dr appointments my YW calling and co-op teaching preschool. It has been nice to keep myself busy these last weeks.

Can’t wait to meet you baby boy! We can’t wait to see what you look like and how perfectly you will fit into our family!

I love these two together. They are starting to really play well together and become such best friends.

Whitney has been determined to figure out pedaling her bike and she was very stubborn to make sure that she got it down fast. I am so proud of her. It took Kaitlyn a lot longer to figure it out so I wasn’t expecting it any time too soon. But this girl has determination and she set her mind to figure it out. I am so proud of her! She is taller than Kate was at this age and that bike is kind of hard to reach the petals. All the kids in the neighborhood can ride so I think that would give any girl the desire to push through and get it down. It is something that she really loves to do. We sure do love being outside.

Daddy Daughter Date

001     005

Last Saturday was Almas first weekend after busy season and Kaitlyn came up with the idea on her own that she needed to go on a date with her Daddy… just the two of them. No Whitney or Mom.

I thought it was a great idea also! They went and got some lunch.

I hope that this tradition keeps going throughout Kaitlyn’s life and with our other kids. I Love that they match too!

Kaitlyn is 4 years old and 5 months. She is growing up so fast. The other night she was asking me and Alma to tell her about how we met and what were our first and second and third and so on dates and what we did on those dates. It is so fun that she is getting so much older and asking so many questions about the world around her.

She is such a delight to have around. She is always so happy and so willing to help and has such a desire to do the right things. She does have her moments like any child is expected to have but she truly has a kind heart that is very selfless.

I am amazed at her love. She doesn’t seem to have one jealous bone in her body. I believe that is why it was so easy to adjust to having Whitney in the home after she was born. She is so kind to Whitney and has such a love for her. She is always talking about how her and Whitney are best friends.

She is so excited to meet our new Baby boy. She talks about him all the time and really believes him to be one of the family even though we haven’t even met him yet. She is kissing my tummy all the time and talking to him. It is so fun for me to have a child old enough to get what is going on. I am so excited to see her reaction after he is born and when she meets him for the first time.

I love having her around and the funny things that she says. She seems so much older to me than she is and I keep reminding myself daily to allow her to be the 4 year old kid that she is.

She is constantly surprising me and making me laugh. I am so grateful for her and all that she brings into my life.

Her favorite dinner is Angel Hair Pasta and she loves Rice.

She loves veggies and fruits and she is always talking about how they are healthy for you and how important it is so eat healthy.

She loves to color and draw.

She can write her name without any help.

She knows all her letters/recognize them and write them.

She loves Rice Krispies and Marshmallow Cereal when we let her have it.

She loves to play pretend and she is always wanting to play family.

She loves Skirts and Dresses… hates getting her hair brushed and fixed.

She LOVES to play outside and ‘get some fresh air’

She loves to go to Grandmas and Grandpas and would sleep there every night if I let her.

She goes to bed at 8 and wakes up at 7-7:30.

020         021

Whitney just turned 2. She is definitely a two year old. She is learning so much each day. Learning new words and saying so many thoughts and ideas. I love that she is talking so much and telling me things. The other day she came into the kitchen and growled at me and then asked, “Did I scare you Mom?” It was so cute.

I am loving this little girl so much. She has such personality and is constantly pulling faces and being silly. She has a silly walk that she pulls out every now and again that cracks me up. Lots of bouncing and swinging her arms.

She is a very determined person. She sees the things that Kaitlyn can do and just wants to be able to do it too. I taught Kaitlyn to buckle herself completely in the car seat and then Whitney wants to do it too. Same with riding a bike. She wanted to learn pedaling since Kaitlyn just learned this last year and she doesn’t stop trying until she gets it down. I think it is so wonderful that she doesn’t give up easy on things that are hard.

I hope that makes Potty Training easy when the time comes.

On her 2nd birthday that night when we tried to put her in her crib she kept saying that she didn’t want to sleep in it and tried to sleep in Kaitlyns bed. So we brought in the toddler bed and let her sleep in that. It was pretty bad the first night. She was up a ton… all night long. I wasn’t planning on moving her for awhile and just putting the new baby in the bassinette or the pack and play. She kept saying I am two I am two and kept pointing to Kaitlyns bed (Which is a twin bed) So we bought her a twin and she has done so great with the switch and loves her new soft bed. Whenever my mom comes to the house she takes her upstairs and tells her all about her bed and how soft it is. She does great staying in it all night long and I love waking up to her face in mine. Which she is a happy morning person which I love!

Whitney is such a sweet heart and LOVES to cuddle. It is something that she will do with you almost any time of day if you ask her. I love it.

I can’t get over though how fast her attitude can change in a minute. She can be so giggly and happy but if she wants something and can’t get it then we have a KA-BOOM moment.  She has those moments that every 2 year old goes through. They are excited about the world around them and they know what they want, but when they can’t get it they have a melt down trying to learn what the boundaries are. She can get pretty nasty especially when it comes to sharing with her sister and we are working on that. But the two of them also have a lot of love for each other.

I do think her fits are better than Kaitlyns 2 year old fits. But she was an easier baby so I guess we are making up for the break I got when she was a baby.

I love this girl so much and all that she is. Tantrums and silliness and all. She is a hoot to be around and surprises me everyday.

She loves Cheese Tomatoes and fruit mainly bananas.

She loves to dance and sing.

She thinks she is one of the big kids and as old as Kaitlyn is

She loves Fruit Snacks and calls them nack-nacks.

She loves wearing her Elmo jammies (which we don’t really watch Elmo but that’s ok)

She still loves her Blanket a lot and she calls it “ISSY”

She loves babies

She loves when people come to the door, whether it is my Parents or the neighbor kids to come and play.

When she colors she draws really small scribbles like letters. Not a lot of big scribbles. She gets really close to the paper and takes her time doing each scribble.

She loves the park and especially the swings! Calls them “wings”

She goes to bed at 8pm and wakes up around 7am. After she wakes me she and I lay in my bed and cuddle and laugh until Kaitlyn wakes up and comes in.

Bubble fun

I love Bubbles but it is always so messy with the wands and the bottles. And you can never blow them fast enough. So for Whitney's Birthday we got an electric bubble maker.

So much fun!

Whitney is 2!

Whitney turned 2 on Sunday March 31st, which was also Easter. It was a great day. We went to church where they sang to her and celebrated her b-day in Nursery. She came home and took a nap and then woke up and we had my Parents over for an Easter Ham Dinner. We had Cake and opened Presents. It was a great day. We even got a little bit of a thunderstorm.

She is growing up so fast!

Some things about my Whitney at 2 years old that I don’t want to forget:

She is spunky.

She knows what she wants, and is stubborn about it

She loves babies and her Issy. Issy is her blanket. When she was little I would ask her where her blanket was and I would say “Where is he?” So she ended up calling it “Is he”

She loves to be silly and goofy. Makes us laugh a lot!

She can turn her attitude or personality in the drop of a hat. Laughing and giggling to screaming and mad instantly. So watch out.

She is smart.

She is starting to talk. It is not always clear what she says and I probably understand a whole lot more than others, but it is nice to be able to understand things that she is saying now.

She dances awesome! I love the way she dances.

She is pretty independent. If Kaitlyn can do it on her own then there is no reason she can’t do it on her own either. Like buckling herself in her car seat.

She thinks she is big.

She knows when she gets mad that she has to sit on the couch in the front room to calm down and I love how a lot of times she will put herself in time out.

She loves real babies. She gets so excited when she is around them. Cant wait to see her with her new baby brother.

She loves to sing.

She loves to cuddle. Loves it! Which I love.

She is starting to give me a run for my money and I better stay on my toes with this one!

For her Birthday this year she got a new baby with some accessories (pack and play car seat diaper bag bouncy chair) and a bubble maker.

I love you sweet girl! I am so glad to be your Mom and I love to see the girl that you are becoming!

Cubs Game

On Saturday we went to a Cubs Game. Alma loves this team and we try to go when they come to town. We never have taken the girls and so it was so much fun to be able to have them there. Even if they lost interest in the game and only cared about getting on the Jumbo-tron. Whitney and Alma made it on the big screen!

It was a fun Saturday since Alma has had to work so much with busy season.

Baby Shower

My Friend Sheena along with some help from some wonderful neighbors and friends threw me a Baby Boy Shower.

I feel so blessed for all those that came out and supported me. I feel so much better now about him arriving and it meant so much to me.

It was so fun to see all the blue clothes after all the pink we have in our house.  I am getting excited for this little guy to come. I am 35 weeks today and so we have about 5-6 weeks left!

I have been feeling so lucky with the women who are in my life right now. The women who live right by me, the women whom I serve in my calling at church with and then women who are in my area.  They are all so amazing and I am so grateful to live where we live and have such an amazing group around me all the time.

001       004

These are all the beautiful women who are pregnant along side me! We are standing in order of when we are due. The gal next to me is expecting twin boys and she could always end up going before me, but all are having boys. The girl on the far right hasn’t found out yet. It is funny how gender of babies comes in waves.
