Family Photos

Yesterday for church, the girls wore matching dresses, something I have always wanted to do with 2 girls. It was so fun to have them match. Alma even wore a pink tie!

We just had to take family photos now that we are a family of four!

Here are the girls on the floor. My little Kaitlyn, doesn't seem so little next to Whitney anymore!

One week old!

Well I survived the first week. Lets just say that she is such an easy baby that surviving is something that I haven't really had to do. More like enjoying this sweet little baby.

She is so good natured and she sleeps a ton. Which I am happy about.

I have only been getting up twice to feed her from 9:30pm-8am.

Seriously!! How did I luck out!

and I better knock on wood because I might run out of this luck.

She is so sweet and I am enjoying her and Kaitlyn so much. Kaitlyn is doing really well with her. She is interested but not too interested and she is so sweet to her! I love to see them together.

I am so grateful for this little girl and how kind she has been to me since she came into our lives.

Ps. I love her hair too! It is so fun to be able to play with! I guess I waiting long enough with Kaitlyn, now I get to do both of my girls hair. It is more work, bald was pretty easy, but it is so fun!

I love Kates face here... like so when is she going to do something?

Our house is almost done. I think the only thing left is they need to install blinds.

We pushed our closing back till the 20th just to get through tax season.

We are excited to move in!

This picture does weird things to the colors on the floor... it is the same as the tile backsplash... I love how it turned out!

Appliances are in!
The Yard is landscaped with a cute tree in the front!

Whitney Jayne Bates!

Well, here is our story with Whitney Jayne Bates.
Here is a picture of me the night before we had her! almost 41 weeks.
I went in for an ultrasound at 32 weeks and they told me she was around 5lbs. I couldn't believe she was that big already. Anyway, with each passing week I couldn't help but think she was getting bigger. But then again, how truly accurate is that.

I went in for a 39 week checkup and I was 2-3 cm and 90% effaced. The doc said, I am sure that it will happen this weekend. Well nothing happened and the next Friday I was there again getting checked. I was the same as the week before and it was my 40th week checkup. I really didn't want to induce, but I was starting to wonder if it was ever going to happen. I am sure it would have but as the days went on, it seemed best to have her somewhat close to the weekend so that we could have Alma around.
So we decided to induce on Thursday 3-31-11.
They asked us to call at 5am and then they would let us know when/if we could come in to get it going.

We woke up and got ready and called, they asked if we could come in at 7:15am. So we did.
We ran to the store since we had some time, got a netflix, snacks and a present for Kate.

We got to the hospital and we got set up and ready and they ended up breaking my water around 8:30am.

After that the contractions started to come while we watched a movie. When it got to the point where I couldnt really take it anymore we asked for the epidural.
When they put the epidural in I was at a 5.

It was about 10:30am when I asked and it was all set in and working by 11:30am. Which was awesome!

Then we just kind of hung out and finished our movie, they came in and checked me. I was at a 9!! I couldn't believe how fast it was all going. They said they would be back in 15 mins. to start getting ready to push.
They came back 15 mins later, set up for delivery and I pushed through 3 contractions and then she was out! 2:20pm.

It was crazy how fast and easy it all was compared to the last time. It was such a smooth delivery and when they announced that she was 9.2 pounds and 21 1/2 inches I was shocked! I would have thought it would have been a harder delivery. I was lucky enough to not tear either which has made recovery very quick. I am still taking it easy but it is really hard to do that when you feel so well.

The next day, we asked if we could go home, since we weren't getting ANY rest there at the hospital. They gave us the ok and we were home by 3pm the next day after having her.

Everything is going well, Kaitlyn is adjusting so well and we are just loving this little girl and I love that she really looks a lot different than Kaitlyn did.
I kept thinking that we were just going to have another little Kaitlyn but they really are different!
It is so fun to be able to have a little one that cuddles with you and to have a toddler that can talk and interact and play with you.

I am so grateful for how easy this whole thing had been. I was really worried about it, last time it was really hard and recovery took almost 8 weeks. It was a hard delivery too, doing it Natural. I feel very blessed about how it all went.
