Friends

 

We have gotten close to some friends that live practically next door to us. It has been such a fun thing to have little kids in our cul-de-sac for our kids to play with. I don’t even want to think about the possibility of one of our families moving. Or if we ever do, we will just have to take their family with us.

Chuck E Cheese Fun!

We went to a Birthday Party a few weeks back and all the girls wanted to use their tokens’ on were the Carousel. So Fun!

Batting Cages

Alma and I figured out a way to go on Dates more and it has been such a blast. We went to the Batting Cages last week and it was such a fun time. He has an awesome swing and I didn’t do so bad if I may say so myself.

One of my favorite times of day

 

When Alma gets home from work and things have calmed down and we get the girls ready for bed, we then pull out the scriptures and gather in our game room. We also read a story or two if we have time and then we just laugh and play. It is my favorite time of day.

 

Mother/Daughter Temple Night

We had a Mother Daughter Temple Night where we went to the Temple with all the YW and we walked around the Temple and talked about the importance of staying Worthy to enter in. It was a great activity and I sure do love serving with these girls!

Root Root Root for the Cubbies

Alma has a love for the Cubs. He and his Grandpa watched them a lot when he was growing up. So we try to go and see them when we can. When we were on our Honeymoon in Denver we went to a Cubs game and then we have been to two more games since in Houston. That is one reason he wanted to move to Houston.

 

He got us front row seats in left field. I could smell the field. And see the out fielders great. We brought a glove and were hoping to catch something. A couple balls got close but no luck.

It was such a fun night. We sat by super fun people who all talked and interacted with each other and one little boy right behind us was the “Fan of the Game” and got to be on the news. Alma and I tried to sneak into their shot. It was a great game and loads of fun! GO CUBS!

What I see a lot of…

  

I love one year olds. I love how they cruise about, able to play with ANYTHING! It is awesome. Gotta love their little fits. This Whitney has a little bit of a Temper. When she was born they said so and I am shocked at how much they were right. If you don’t feed her fast enough or if something is stuck and she is trying to get it, she has a little bit of an explosion. But I do love this face. I love when she comes up to my legs and grabs on and looks up at me. It is pretty awesome. Even if she is crying. I took a picture of her at my legs and Alma suggested that I take a picture every time she does it. I only got 2 pictures.

Mothers Day

 

I am so blessed.

I have always wanted to be a Mother… and here I am. A Mother of two Beautiful girls. It has its good days, along with (sometimes it feels) just as many hard. There are some days that I never want to end. And some that feels as if all I can do is survive until bedtime.

But then we come together and have those moments. Like at the dinner table when Alma gets home.

All of us together… being an eternal family.

We have laughter and lots of giggles in our home. Kids always have such a fun sense of humor and I love seeing what they laugh at. I love seeing them laugh together.

This has become the hardest thing that I have ever had to do. It is just beginning. The worrying that comes along with being a Mother is something that I knew I would always have to deal with. When you finally have children, that worrying comes right away. Trying to decide what things to I stand firm on and fight for… what things should I just let go and let them be kids. You can’t get on their case about every little thing. That is something that I am learning. Pick something and work hard on it with them. Once they have that down, we will pick another. I have to remind myself that they are young and learning. And that I am young and learning to be a Mom as well. I hope Kate is kind and Patient with Alma and I through the years. I know every first born probably gets all trial and error with their parents. We love her more than she will ever know and just truly want what is best for her.

I pray everyday for Patience and for the strength to be their Mother first and then a friend. How I wish I could just be their best friends, spoil and not have to discipline. But I love them too much to do that. I have to remind myself that everyday.

How blessed and grateful I feel that I have the opportunity to be a Mom to both of these amazing Daughters of God. That is something I am eternally grateful for. I am sometimes in awe of the blessings that Alma and I have received. These are definitely two big ones.

I will do my best. I have many things to work on. But I continue to try again and do better each day.

Look at him with these girls. He was meant to be a Daddy. And he is so awesome at it. I think pink fits him well too. Thank you Alma for being the Father that our girls need. They will be blessed for that.
