TeXaS tRiP

We took a trip to Texas for a couple reasons:

1. To interview with Deliotte Accounting for a summer Internship
2. Interview with BDO Seidman for a job after graduation this fall. Jan. '11
3. Look at areas, to know what our options are if we end up there, which is helpful when my mom is in the Real Estate buisness.
4. To let Kaitlyn Party with her Grandma and Grandpa Chamberlain
The trip was a success. We Did all of the above plus lots lots more. It was a great week and here are some pictures about it:

A few posts from our recent Trip

On the way home from Wells, we stopped by Bountiful for Almas close friend and old roommates wedding reception. Afterwards, we went to Neilsons for some frozen custard! It was soooooooooooo good! I recommend it if you are in the area!
Kaitlyn loved it!

Here are the guys destroying the Bride and Grooms car before their Honeymoon!

The guys to blame... Kaitlyn was not involved.

Us with the Bride and Groom! Such a good looking couple huh!?
(talking about the Bride and Groom)

And of course, Brent massaging Jeremy after a long weekend of Drill.

And here is a video I took before we left for our trip last week. We watched Kaitlyns best friend, so that her Daddy and Alma could go Home Teaching.

Kaitlyn loves having her over.

I love how at the beginning of this video she makes noises of eating a bottle. I do that when she feeds her baby. It is cute to see her showing her friend what a baby makes while eating.

New Post below of our Trip to Wells!!

Wells Trip!

This last Wednesday Night we drove to Wells, to see Almas Parents and some family. Almas older brother Spencer and his nephew, Michael also headed down the day before us to help Almas Dad with some work around the house. We stayed until Saturday morning and it was so fun to get to spend time with Almas family.

Here is Kaitlyn before we left,
I think toy box would make a great babysitter :)
The boys were helping Grandpa Bates cut down a neighbors tree and while in the process... It fell on a Power line. (which was really tough cuz they had to have it fall inbetween a power line and the house) It was a very small space, the power line was the lucky winner to help the tree break its fall. Needless to say we almost pulled a power line pole right out of the ground! It was kind of rotting and ready to go anyway, maybe it was a good thing we had the Power CO. replace it. :)

Here is Alma and Kate in the green house and his parents house! I love this green house right off the side of their living room and connected to the kitchen. The kitchen is the window behind Alma. I LOVE IT!

Here is Kate Jammin' with the boys

Here she is picking yummy Cherry Tomatos with Grandpa Bates

If you give her food and play with her she will be your best friend!
She REALLY liked Grandpa Bates because he did Both!
There was this one time when she was in the Greenhouse and he found a worm and through it at her bare feet. She really freaked out.
He is such a tease, and we love it!

One of Almas brothers who doesn't live too far from Grandma and Grandpa Bates, came down Friday night so we could all hang out!
And of course we all ended up hanging out in the Greenhouse~
It is just so cool!

Kate watching Grandpa Bates work out back.

It was so much fun to see Rory and his family! Even if Rory did scare Kaitlyn to Death! She wouldn't go anywhere near him. I guess he came in the front door without notice or knocking and she was right by the door. He is pretty tall and someone she doesn't know, so everytime she even got close to him she would pull away or back away slowly. It was pretty cute, him teasing her and all. Such a great weekend!
Here is a video of Kaitlyn with her cousins. She had such a fun time trying to make Dillon laugh! And Josie is so great by reading Green Eggs and Ham!

This video was taken before we left for Nevada. She was just trying to get a pen cap on the pen but she was making the funniest faces~ She really cracks us up!!

SpRiNg TiMe ViDeOs!

Alma is amazing help when it comes to Laundry. We live on the 3rd floor in our apartment and to walk all the way to the other side of our quad and carry all the Laundry would take me a couple trips, plus I have Kaitlyn all day long and to take her with me would be more work. He can carry it all at once (strong man, I know!) and get it all done and back up in the apartment in less than 2 hours. Plus, to get the discount for being a student, we have to use his Student ID. Which I dont have. So he does it for me and I am so grateful for his help in that!
Yesterday he headed down to go get the Laundry, and Kaitlyn was really sad when he left. She went out on the balcony and just cried. It breaks my heart that she doesn't quite understand that he will be back. I am sure it makes him feel good to know she missed him. The whole Quad could hear her missing him. It was too cute to not take a picture of.

So sad

Missing her Daddy

Kaitlyn loves the playground outside of our apartment. Here she is going down the slide. She does so well and has no fear!

Here is a view from the top! I love how she just dives!

Here, she and Dad are kicking a soccer ball around

Here is Kate getting pushed around the playground by Alma. I love it too cuz she says, "Beep, Beep!" I love where we live!

Our Easter Weekend...

We had a great Easter. I should have taken more pictures but I guess we were having too much fun. Since we have been married, we have spent all but 1 Conference out of 6 somewhere else, other than home. Always visiting family. The last 3 have been somewhere else, so we were actually really excited to enjoy Conference at home.

I made Biscuits and Gravy and Orange Julius' and our friends came over for breakfast on Saturday morning. Then we watched Conference. In between Sessions on Saturday, our ward had a Primary Easter Egg hunt for all the kids in the Ward, outside in our quad. It was so fun. Kaitlyn had a blast.

Then she was tuckered out and spent all of the Afternoon session snoozing, which was great for mom and dad to spend listening to conference without any cute distractions.

Then, Alma went to Priesthood Session and I went out on the town with Kaitlyn and my friend and her daughter. After the Priesthood session ended, the guys met up with us for Panda Express. YumMy!!

Sunday, Kaitlyn had a blast after waking up looking for eggs in our house, and then I made a yummy Breakfast bake with Egg, ham, cheese and biscuits. It was soooooo DEEELISH! (before Alma looked for his candy I turned on the oven to preheat and I kept smelling burnt Chocolate. I forgot I hid a Reeses Egg in the OVEN!) oops!

...then we enjoyed listening to Conference. Which was awesome!

While we watched the Afternoon session, I put a lasanga in the oven and when it was over we ate! It turned out perfect!

After Kaitlyn went to bed last night, we dyed Easter eggs.

It was such a fun weekend, playing Farkle together (dice game) watching Kaitlyn be amazing at finding eggs, spending time as a family, thinking of Christ and watching Conference. I was sad to see it end.

Needless to say, we ate a lot. But it was the holidays! Right?

Ps. Sweet-tart Jelly beans are sooo good!

Here is a video of Kaitlyn on Sunday morning looking for easter eggs. I will admit we had a hard time at first not showing her where they were! Just to get her going, but once she got going she didnt slow down!

Sunday afternoon, Alma and Kate played Hide and seek. One of Kaitlyns favorite games to play. They have such a blast!

Hope your Easter/Conference Weekend was great also!

I love how much she knows. She is so cute and keeps us laughing!
Here she is showing off her knowledge of what animals she knows... She was kind of shy on camera, usually she does Puppy really well!

Dr. Suess Party

Our ward had a Dr. Suess party and we had so much fun dressing up. Alma had a Wocket in his pocket, I had a Noothgrush on my toothbrush and Kaitlyn was the Zlock behind the Clock. It was so much fun to dress up and get ready for our party. Here are a couple pictures of us being silly.
(I put a cup in my hair and made it really tall. I am not sure that Kaitlyn liked it, she wasn't very fond of me the whole evening. I guess it was a little scary for her)

We made shirts and the clock around her clock and my Noothgrush on my toothbrush. Alma made a Wocket that looked pretty cool.

Daddys crazy hair

Family Shot!

You can kind of see in this picture that we put gel in Kates hair. Kind of fun!

My buddy, my buddy, Where ever I go, she goes with me!

Well, I am the kind of mom who doesn't let any toys in Kaitlyns bed. I just never thought she needed it, the crib is a place for sleeping not playing... is what I thought.

I have seen a few pictures on friends blogs or on facebook where their kid has toys in their crib and I have always wanted to do it, I was always just too afraid that she wouldnt fall asleep.

You see, if you know my daughter, she is the kind of kid who can't sleep in public, if there are people or toys around she can't fall asleep cuz she might miss something. I was always too afraid to try putting something in her crib. I thought she would just play and miss that window when she would fall asleep.
She is great about nap time. When she is tired, I can tell by her manners, (rubbing eyes) and I ask her, "Do you wanna go to Nigh' Night?" and then I would say pretty much everytime, she runs to her crib and points to it, I lay her down, cover her with a blanket and she falls asleep. I don't hear one peep from her again. It works great!

So I have wanted to add toys to her crib, to cuddle with. I actually tried putting her baby in there once and she threw a fit. I think she was jealous or something. So, I just never had the insentive to try to put anything in there with her. What we were doing, was working GREAT. I was too comfortable with the way things worked to try something else.

Then today, she was acting tired, ready for her nap, and I asked her if she wanted to go Nigh' Night? She picked up her baby and ran to her crib. So I thought, "hmmm... maybe I would give it a try." I tucked her in her blanket along with her baby next to her. Then I left.

I heard her talking and giggling, like they were having girl chat, maybe talking and laughing about "how funny mom is to actually think that they were ever going to go to sleep."

I kept thinking, "She is never going to sleep with that baby in there. She probably thinks it is a party! But I held myself back from going in and taking it away. I heard her every now and again, laughing and things, which usually doesnt happen but occasionally, and then it was quiet.

Later, when I knew she was asleep I peeked in at her and found her cuddling so softly and sweetly with her baby, who, to me looks like her twin. Both Bald with beautiful eyes. It was such a cute, yet different sight to see her sleeping.

The simple things....

It is amazing to me how the most simple things in life can make you happy. I am so grateful for my husband and my daughter. I love this little family that I have, and nothing makes my heart melt more then seeing us spend time together.
It truly is the simple things in life that make you happy...
